To heighten anti-scam awareness among the elderly, Yuen Long District (YLDIST), in collaboration with the Kam Tin Rural Committee, District Councillors and members of the District Services and Community Care Teams, visited some 1 500 seniors living in villages and nursing homes in September, distributing mooncakes and leaflets on scam prevention to the elderly. Anti-scam talks were also organised. During these talks, officers employed role-play scenarios to inform the elderly about different types of scams. They also helped the elderly install the Scameter+ on their mobile phones to prevent them from being victimised in fraudulent schemes.
