To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China and enhance the awareness of national security (NS) among Force officers and the public, the New Territories South (NTS) held a series of NS activities in September.

NS Kindergarten Fun Day

NTS held the NS Education Kindergarten Fun Day on September 28. Through relaxed and interesting parent-child activities, the event which strengthened children’s national identity and understanding of the motherland attracted participation of more than 1 100 kindergarten teachers, students and parents. Deputy Commissioner (NS) (DCP NS) Kan Kai-yan, Regional Commander of NTS (RC NTS) Mak Chin-ho, NTS Unit Commanders and community dignitaries joined the event to share the fun with the participants. The activities included a tug-of-war competition and booth games covering NS, Chinese culture, China’s aerospace development and anti-deception knowledge.

NS Online Quiz

The NS Online Quiz was held in early September to test officers’ understanding of the Hong Kong National Security Law and Safeguarding National Security Ordinance. The quiz attracted participation of over 2 000 colleagues. Airport District was awarded the Most Active Participation Formation.
