The Regional Crime Prevention Office of New Territories North (NTN) held its first large-scale New Territories North Regional Multicultural Festival on October 27. Through exciting cultural performances, interactive games and a rich exhibition of booths, the event provided a platform for exchange between non-ethnic Chinese communities and local residents to foster understanding, inclusiveness and respect for creating a harmonious multicultural community jointly.

Commissioner Siu Chak-yee, Regional Commander (RC) of NTN Lam Man-han, Deputy RC of NTN Peter Whitton, District Officer (Yuen Long) Mr Wu Tin-yau and other guests attended the opening ceremony. The event attracted almost 1 000 citizens. The rich varieties of performances included magic shows, dragon dances, anti-deception Cantonese opera, dances, juggling and singing. There were over 20 booths at the venue where different groups showcased unique cultures and cuisines. The Force also set up a publicity booth to promote the Animal Watchers Programme in collaboration with animal organisations, Home for Homeless Dog and Tolobunny to spread messages about animal care and adoption.
