To bolster the Police Tactical Unit (PTU) officers’ preparedness for crowd management during large-scale public events and emergency situations, the PTU Headquarters conducted a major public event exercise in Kowloon East on November 12. The exercise included simulation of PTU officers performing tasks for public procession and crowd management in the Kwun Tong and Sau Mau Ping areas, as well as a joint operation with the Leisure and Cultural Services Department on implementing relevant crowd management measures and response tactics during a large-scale event at East Kowloon Cultural Centre. The exercise involved over 500 officers. Through efficient communication and collaboration, various formations evacuated the crowd promptly and managed related public activities effectively.

The exercise aims to enhance officers’ responses to emergencies during large-scale events.
