PURE (Mainland) sees record-high application
Recruitment Division (RECDIV) visited Jinan University in Guangzhou and Huaqiao University in Fujian separately between October 29 and November 8 for the fifth Police University Recruitment Express (PURE) (Mainland) programme to arrange a one-stop on-site selection process for Hong Kong students in the Mainland. RECDIV received a total of 510 applications from Hong Kong students in the Mainland during these visits, topping the PURE (Mainland) programme since its establishment in 2022.
Senior Superintendent of Human Resources Branch Kwok Ka-chun attended a seminar in the discipline elite growth programme at Jinan University on October 29 and met the Secretary of the Party Committee of Huaqiao University Prof Xu Xipeng on November 5 to understand the students’ aspirations in joining the Force and deepen the cooperative relationship mutually. He also visited the event venue to encourage the candidates on site.
JU delegation visits HK
Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Jinan University (JU) Mr Sun Yu led a delegation to visit the Police College (the College) on November 5 and exchanged views with officers from the Human Resources Branch (HRB) and the School of Foundation Training (SFT) to discuss how to recruit Hong Kong students in the Mainland to join the Force. RECDIV has been cooperating with JU on the PURE (Mainland) since 2022. So far, nearly 100 Hong Kong students from JU have started their training in the College.
Chief Superintendent of HRB Kwok Mei-sum met the JU delegation and thanked the university for its continued support of PURE (Mainland). The officers briefed the delegates on the police recruitment situation at JU, as well as the training of recruit police constables (RPC) and probationary inspectors. Senior Superintendent of SFT Tsang Chiu-tong and RPCs who graduated from JU shared their campus life. Lastly, the officers led the delegation to tour the training facilities such as the trainees’ barracks and drill square.
