Chief Superintendent of Traffic Branch Headquarters (TBHQ) Leung Shun, along with Chairman of the Hong Kong Road Safety Association Mr Chong Chong-yip and representatives from Traffic Kowloon West, officiated at the kick-off ceremony for the revamped Road Safety Bus on October 31. They were joined by junior members of the Road Safety Patrol to experience the facilities on the bus and promote road safety messages. About 50 guests, teachers and students attended the event.

The Force has been using the Road Safety Bus as a mobile exhibition platform to publicise road safety messages among the public, especially children and the elderly, since the 1970s. To extend the reach of these important messages, the bus underwent a comprehensive renovation in the third quarter of 2024. The newly renovated Road Safety Bus features an exterior design that utilises the lively image of the TBHQ mascot, Traffic Bear. There are various interactive games inside, including experiences of different crossing scenarios, a quiz game and simulated driving activities.
