Director of Vietnam’s Homeland Security Department under Ministry of Public Security Pham Ngoc Viet led a five-member delegation to visit Hong Kong between December 3 and 5, 2024 and to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Commissioner Siu Chak-yee to strengthen collaboration in counter terrorism (CT).
The MoU underscored the commitment of both parties to fortifying cooperation and interchange in key areas, including CT operational strategies, tactical training, counter terrorist financing and cyber security measures. This strategic partnership signified a joint dedication to addressing the challenges posed by terrorism in the increasingly connected world.
In addition, the Vietnamese delegation visited various CT formations to deepen their understanding of the Force’s CT capabilities. Both parties explored a range of cooperative initiatives to strengthen existing ties for responding jointly to the evolving global terrorism landscape.
