Airport District (APTDIST) hosted its annual lunch on December 5, 2024. Stakeholders of the airport community were invited to attend the function, during which it was announced that the Airport District (Auxiliary) (APTDISTA) had been officially established since November 24, 2024 in response to the increased security and operational needs of the District with the commissioning of the three-runway system. To facilitate auxiliary officers who had newly joined the District to understand the relevant legislation and working environment, APTDIST held training sessions for them on November 19 and 20, 2024.

In his opening remarks of the lunch gathering, District Commander of APTDIST Yip Pun-yu reviewed the District’s initiatives in 2024 and introduced the major development projects, including the repositioning of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Port to APTDIST, the enhancement of District Investigation Teams in Lantau District and APTDIST, and the restructuring of Airport Security Unit. He also encouraged interested parties to join APTDISTA.
