The Regional Crime Prevention Office of New Territories North (NTN) hosted the anti-deception pop-up exhibition “Unmasking Deception Journey” in Yuen Long between December 1 and 7, 2024. This event marked the first collaboration between the Force’s anti-deception mascot “The Little Grape” and the popular character “Nailoong”. The event featured three main exhibition zones focusing on Investment Deceptions, Telephone Deceptions and Online Shopping Fraud respectively. Additionally, there was a special exhibition area for the Animal Watchers Programme to promote messages of animal care.
Participants who completed tasks at the venue had the opportunity to receive exclusive souvenirs “The Little Grape X Nailoong” and take part in a lucky draw for flight tickets. Singer Mr Tam Fai-chi was invited to serve as the Anti-Deception Ambassador for the event. During the opening ceremony, Mr Tam joined Commissioner Siu Chak-yee, who shared tips on deception prevention with the audience, to distribute anti-deception leaflets and event souvenirs to the public. The seven-day exhibition that attracted over 10 000 visitors aimed at raising public awareness of common deception tactics and prevention strategies.
