To support frontline officers, the Support Wing and Technical Services Division jointly developed the e-Armoury Record Management System (e-ARMS) so as to streamline the issue and return of armoury equipment, enhance the accuracy of armoury records and establish centralised management of armoury inventory.
e-ARMS manages all armoury equipment via AI object recognition and inventory management technologies. By scanning the corresponding QR code label of the equipment, officers can record the type, serial number and quantity of the equipment automatically in the system instead of using the conventional Beat Equipment Register. The efficiency and accuracy of equipment issue and return process can thus be enhanced. Moreover, the tool management function of the system facilitates supervisors at different levels to oversee and manage armoury inventory. Support Wing has launched the e-ARMS Pilot Scheme in Wan Chai Division, Emergency Unit of Kowloon East and Marine Regional Headquarters.
Director of Operations Chan Tung visited Wan Chai Division on December 12, 2024 to observe the operation of e-ARMS. During the visit, favourable comments were received from frontline officers who joined the pilot scheme. The system will be expanded to all six Regions and it is planned that it will be fully implemented throughout the Force in 2026.
