The Recruitment Division (RECDIV) held the Recruitment Experience and Assessment Day (READ) at the Police College with the theme “Next Station: Police College” on December 15, 2024. The event was attended by 1 620 participants and more than 460 on-site applications were received. The Simulated Shooting Range Station and Indoor Range Shooting Experience Station were first introduced to allow participants to experience the intensity of firearms and learn more about firearms training. As for the selection workshops, in addition to the Recruit Police Constable (RPC) Physical and Chinese/English Writing Mock Examinations, the RPC 2-in-1 Express was held in READ for the first time for applicants with outstanding performance in the Group Interview stage to attend the Final Interview on the same day for further optimisation of the selection process.
Moreover, the Diploma of Applied Education - Police Cadet Training Programme (Cadet Programme) in the 2025/26 academic year is now open for application. On-site interview sessions are arranged by RECDIV in READ. The Cadet Programme provides practical knowledge and preparatory training for persons interested in joining the Force. Students who successfully complete the programme and pass the Police Constable selection process may commence foundation training at the Police College upon graduation. 71 applications were received on the day.
CORE
To facilitate citizens living in the New Territories to join the Force, RECDIV brought its second Community Outreach Recruitment Express (CORE) into the community by setting up recruitment information booth with the theme of panda in Yuen Long District between January 4 and 5, 2025. The three Recruitment Spokespersons shared the latest recruitment information for the public to gain better knowledge of the job requirements and selection process. The Interactive Police Unit Display at the venue also showcased the diversity of policing work. Applicants could attend the on-spot group interview for Police Constable inside the Panda Recruitment Express. They would receive a limited edition calendar produced collaboratively by RECDIV and the Police Dog Unit. The response was overwhelming with over 100 applications received.
