The Police Tactical Unit Headquarters (PTU HQs) organised two Crowd Management Operation Workshops on January 15 and 16, attended by over 100 supervisory officers ranked at chief inspector or above from all Regions as well as working partners of the Force such as the Civil Aid Service, Special Constables and the Road Safety Patrol. The workshops covered various aspects, including policing plan for festive events, crowd management skills and application of technology in training, aiming at enhancing the operational readiness and professionalism of supervisory officers for the 15th National Games and other mega event operations.
Commandant of PTU HQs Mok Hing-wing made an opening address in each workshop and highlighted the importance of the operational aspects mentioned above. The speakers elaborated the essence of the operations with abundant real-life examples. The participants also actively took part in experience sharing and table-top exercises. They all agreed that the workshops could enhance their operational efficiency and professionalism in operations. They would also share the key points with other officers through internal training within their respective units.
