To raise road safety awareness among the public, New Territories South (NTS), in collaboration with the Kowloon Motor Bus Company (1933) Limited (KMB), Wai Yin Association and the Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol, held the Road Safety Day cum Prize Presentation Ceremony of Bus Body Advertising Design Competition at the Airport Police Station on January 18, attracting over 500 participants comprising primary school students, teachers and parents.

The primary school students joining the competition needed to design a bus body advertising design on the theme of cycling safety or bus passenger safety. The champion designs of both themes are displayed on KMB bus bodies and have started to promote road safety messages on various bus routes since January 19.

On the day, ex-athlete of the Hong Kong cycling team Mr Wong Kam-po was invited to share information on road safety for cycling. A variety of events, including fancy cycling, drum team performance, first-hand experience on blind spots of large vehicles, mobile classroom for safety promotion, Bicycle Patrol Team demonstration, police vehicle exhibition and booth games, were also arranged.
