Marine Region (MAR) hosted the annual liaison meeting of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao (GHM) Maritime Law Enforcement Agencies for 2025 at the Police Sports and Recreation Club on February 26. The meeting was presided by Director of Operations (D OPS) Chan Tung and Regional Commander of MAR Ng Cheuk-hang. A special feature of this year’s liaison meeting which differed from the previous years was that a series of sharing sessions were especially arranged for representatives from MAR, the Exit-Entry Administration Bureau of the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department and the Macao Customs to present their operational profiles and experience in law enforcement.
On behalf of the Hong Kong Police Force, D OPS expressed gratitude to the counterparts from the Mainland and Macao for their support of the Force and their contributions to maintaining national security and domestic stability. He looked forward to more effective cross-border cooperation fostered by the tripartite marine law enforcement agencies for addressing the increasingly complex challenges of maritime policing.
More than 120 representatives from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao attended the meeting. The participating agencies comprised the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the People's Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison and various law enforcement agencies and government departments from the GHM Greater Bay Area, including counterparts from military defense, police, fire services, immigration, customs, marine and fisheries control sectors.
