To build strategic partnership with law enforcement agencies of countries along the Belt and Road Initiative, Director of Hong Kong Police College (D HKPC) Chan Yee-lai led a 15-member delegation to visit Egypt from February 9 to 13. It was the first time for a Force delegation to visit Egypt for exchange.


The Head of Police Academy of Egyptian National Police briefed the delegation on its police training facilities and exchanged insights with D HKPC. Both sides expressed that they looked forward to long-term cooperation to enhance the training and development of the officers of the two police forces. The delegation also visited the Public Security Sector of Central Security Force, National Security Sector of National Security Agency, Anti-Money Laundering and Organised Crime Sector of Criminal Investigation Department, as well as the Traffic and Civil Protection Sector, to understand the working situation of different local sectors and share with local officers the policing development and challenges faced. During the visit, the charge d’affairs of Ambassador of China to Egypt Mr Zhang Tao met the delegation, affirming the successful outcome of the visit.
