To promote digital policing and train more police officers with cybercrime enforcement knowledge, the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau, Police College and Personnel Wing have joined hands with the University College Dublin (UCD) in Ireland by recommending Force members to attend its Master in Forensic Computing and Cybercrime Investigation Programme.
30 officers from 11 units have taken the programme since September 2024. Leader of the trainee group Fan Chun-yip led 17 officers to Dublin to take part in examinations of the first semester in December 2024. All trainees performed exceptionally well, achieving average scores in the top 15% among around 120 students of the programme. Among the trainees, two of them even earned A+ grades in all enrolled subjects. This trip helped strengthen the partnership with UCD, laying a solid foundation for cultivating talents in combatting cybercrimes.
