The Information Systems Wing (ISW) launched the Force’s video platform P-TV in 2021. The platform has achieved remarkable results over the past four years: having accumulated more than 3 000 videos with total views exceeding 9.1 million and over 125 000 likes received through the interactive functions, bringing a new look to the Force’s internal communication platform.

Three new features

To meet the trend of social media communication and facilitate officers to directly reflect their personal opinions on different contents, P-TV has launched three new functions, namely Optional Anonymous Message, Respond to Individual Messages and Quick Movie Viewing at 1.5 or 2.0 times of normal film speed.

Let’s talk IT

ISW has also produced the new programme “Let’s talk IT” for P-TV to explore the trends of technology development. A number of IT experts have been invited for interview. They include Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation Dr Chai Ngai-chiu, Managing Director of Hong Kong Telecom’s Commercial Group Mr Ng Ka-lung and Adjunct Associate Professor of the Institute for China Business of the University of Hong Kong cum Director of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited Prof Chia Pun-kok. Police technology and related policy stakeholders also participated in thematic discussions.

Since its launch, the “Let’s talk IT” series has attracted over 100 000 views. The first two episodes, in which Dr Chai briefly discussed the IT development of Hong Kong and the Force, inspired officers’ enthusiastic comments and discussions, resulting in the programme topping the ratings.
