The Organized Crime and Triad Bureau and the Gaming-related Crimes Division of the Macao Judiciary Police (MJP) hosted the Macao Gaming Industry Workshop between February 18 and 20. The workshop aimed to enhance the officers’ capabilities in investigating Macao gaming-related loansharking and debt collection cases, as well as further promoting policing collaboration between the two places.

A total of 23 crime officers from Crime Wing, Regional crime teams and Detective Training Centre attended the workshop and were given lectures by MJP on the latest trends in gaming-related crimes and the enforcement strategies. The participants also visited the security and command centres at casinos and had a better understanding on how MJP cooperated with the casinos to combat gaming-related criminal activities. A seminar on the Macao Criminal Procedure Law was also introduced for the first time for the participants to have more knowledge in the difference between the legal systems of the two places to boost the efficiency of cross-border collaborations in the future.
