The Renovation Kick-off Ceremony of Block G at Junior Police Call (JPC) Permanent Activity Centre and Integrated Youth Training Camp (JPC@PH) was held on February 17, marking the official launch of the first technology training centre in JPC@PH. Assistant Commissioner (Public Relations) Chan Sze-tat, Chief Superintendent of Public Relations (PR) Wing Leung Chung-man, Senior Superintendent (Community Relations) of PR Wing Lam Sze-wan and Property Services Manager (Yuen Long) of the Architectural Services Department (ASD) Mr Lai Chin-fai officiated at the ceremony. More than 20 representatives from the media, ASD and the engineering industry attended.
To deepen the participants’ understanding of JPC@PH, a guided tour was arranged on the day to showcase several training programmes. The attendees also had the opportunity to personally experience some training facilities.
Block G was formerly a building for breathing apparatus and tactical training of the Fire Services Department. This renovation project is the largest since 2017 with its overall completion expected in the second quarter of 2027. The building is set to serve as a technology training centre with approximately 1 000 square metres of training space. The three floors of the new building will be the E-sports Area, Virtual Policing Simulation Workshop and Indoor Shooting Range, respectively designed to enhance the participants’ experiences and training outcomes through innovative technology. Completion of the project will further enhance the quality of training, providing a more professional and innovative training environment for local youth.
