Lantau District (LTDIST), in collaboration with Traffic New Territories South (NTS), Emergency Unit of NTS, Fire Services Department, Hospital Authority, and Transport Department, conducted a joint departmental exercise codenamed SWIFTENTRY at the Hospital Authority Supporting Services Centre (HASSC) on February 26. The exercise involved nearly 200 personnel and aimed to enhance the officers’ professional knowledge and their emergency response capabilities in handling large-scale incidents. The exercise also improved coordination and communication among various government departments and agencies.

The exercise simulated a road closure in which the resources of HASSC could not be delivered to other network hospitals as planned due to a traffic accident. The officers arrived at the scene swiftly soon after receiving the report and assisted in managing traffic diversion to ensure that the supplies could be transported to the destinations successfully. The exercise also simulated an intruder entering HASSC to vandalise facilities and set a fire. The officers promptly arrived at the scene, apprehended the suspect and assisted in evacuating affected individuals to safe areas. At the same time, a command centre was set up by the participating parties to coordinate operations.
