Hong Kong Island (HKI) held the rollout ceremony for the “Technology Across Generations: Skills Unlocking Challenge” at Cyberport on March 22. The programme was supported by the Digital Policy Office, the Teens and Elderly Mission Committee, the Chairmen of the Junior Police Call (JPC) and the Senior Police Call (SPC) Honorary President Councils, the District Services and Community Care Teams and various collaborative partners.
The programme aims at uniting efforts of various sectors of the society to provide a series of skill-unlocking activities for the elderly, caregivers and young people. It seeks to use technology as a bridge connecting different generations in promoting broader understanding of digital services, applying technological products and participating in activities beneficial to physical and mental well-being.
At the ceremony, Smart Silver Ambassadors shared their learnings from the Smart Silver Digital Inclusion Programme for Elders. Caregivers and seniors benefiting from Project EVERGREEN also shared cases of successfully locating missing seniors using tracking devices. Furthermore, JPC and SPC members tried out various emerging electronic sports.
