Views on floor-mounted Force insignia

The media reported widely the rolling-out programme of the Customer Service Improvement Project.

Out of curiosity, I went to Sau Mau Ping Police Station to have a look. Its design is similar to that of North Point Police Station.

The report room is comfortable and the new facilities are great. As a member of the Force, I really feel proud of it. I am sure in the near future, all members of the Force and the public will feel the advantages the project brings.

I understand every project may have some faults, and what I mean here is the Force insignia on the entrance lobby floor. The insignia, which is highly respected, is nicely mounted on the floor for people to tread on!

As the Police insignia has already been put on a big colourful light box at the station, I see no point in mounting another Force insignia on the floor. The relevant authorities should improve the situation as soon as possible.

The insignia on the report room entrance lobby floor was part of the design package for the three pilot police stations in the Station Improvement Project. Whereas designs are aimed to provide a comfortable and user-friendly environment for the public as well as reinforcing the Force's image, it is subject to a comprehensive review in order to fine tune details for all other police stations. There are already comments received on the use of the Force insignia on the floor and I can assure your reader his comments have received our attention and will be taken into consideration prior to the Force rollout.
