D of E cheers Police support (A letter sent to Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, Peter Wong) On 29 June, 1999 various district police officers carried out joint headcount visits to 12 kindergartens together with district education staff. The operation, which involved over 100 officers from both departments, was the largest scale of its kind and was a great success. It effectively sent a strong signal to kindergarten operators that the Administration would not tolerate over-enrolment. I trust they will be more law-abiding in future. I wish to thank you and your colleagues most sincerely for your staunch support and assistance throughout the operation. Please convey my gratitude to the officers concerned from Eastern, Tsuen Wan, Mong Kok, Sham Shui Po and, in particular, Kowloon City Districts. My heartfelt thanks also go to officers of the Support Bureau who, from the planning stage, have rendered valuable advice and assistance without which the operation could not have taken off the ground. I look forward to your leadership and continued support. Fanny Law << Back to Index >> |
