New holiday system
The new Holiday Home Information System (HHIS) is proving hugely popular scoring hordes of hits since its recent launch.
The system, set up in POINT to provide an alternative for staff to access information on holiday homes, has registered about 18,000 hits since it was made available Force-wide on July 21. The bilingual design contains general information on each holiday home with photos and maps, updated vacancy lists, price lists and the ballot schedule.

An administrative version of the system was also set up to maintain the bookings and to accumulate data for activities and accounting reports. A direct-booking function is also being planned along with information on recreation centres and special hotel promotion packages.
Formally launching the system on September 20, were Assistant Commissioner of Police (Personnel) Yam Tat-wing and ACP (Information Systems) Peter Halliday. Mr Halliday said the high number of visitors reflected its popularity and thanked Information Technology Branch staff and the Holiday Facilities and Recreation Centres Unit for helping establish it.
