ORBIS Charity Golf Tournament
A wise man once said: "If you give a man a fish, he will be free from hunger for a day. If you teach a man how to fish, he will be free from hunger for the rest his life. He, in turn, will be able to teach more men how to fish." This is also the operation philosophy of ORBIS, the 'Flying Eye Hospital'.
ORBIS is an international, humanitarian organisation dedicated to fighting blindness worldwide through health education and hands-on training for ophthalmologists, nurses, biomedical engineers and other health care workers. Since 1982, ORBIS has conducted nearly 400 programmes in 79 countries, including China, and has trained over 46,000 doctors and nurses in sight-saving skills.
ORBIS recently invited the Police Golfing Society to jointly hold a charity tournament and its General Committee, chaired by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Management) Tsang Yam-pui, unanimously accepted.
The Tournament will be held on December 9 and 10, at Lotus Hill Golf Resort, Panyu. We hope golfers will test their skills on the course and enjoy themselves while simultaneously helping to raise money for this worthwhile cause.
The entrance fee is estimated to be about $2,500 per person. More details will be available soon on PEN.
