"Ni hao ma?"
A group of New Territories South officers recently wowed a veteran Putonghua teacher with their top standards and enthusiasm in the dialect.
The group, from NTS Regional Headquarters, attended a voluntary job-related Putonghua course at Ma On Shan Police Station during September and October, to boost their skills under the instruction of Hong Kong University lecturer and former government officer Chan Kwok-kin.
Mr Chan said he was impressed by the standards of the participants who were hardworking and enthusiastic. He said he enjoyed teaching the group and even posed for photos with the class at the end of the course.
