Sports Exchange, 1999
After a gutsy effort, Force athletes lost out to the talents of their Guangdong counterparts in this year's Hong Kong-Guangdong Sports Exchange, held November 2 to 5 in Guangzhou.
The Guangdong side won an impressive 13 events while the couragous effort of the Hong Kong team saw them take out the other six.
In the Exchange's ninth year, the two sides squared-off in five sports, namely table-tennis, badminton, tenpin bowling, shooting and volleyball.
The prize-presentation ceremony was held at a dinner party on November 4.
The Hong Kong delegation also took time out to visit the Control Centre of the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department and see a photo exhibition on the history of the province's PSB units before returning home on November 5.
The first ever triangular sports exchange has been proposed to be held in Macau next year after the enclave's return to the Mainland.
