and the South's clout
About 700 staff took to the Police Sports and Recreation Club on November 12 to take part in this year's Kowloon West Sports Day.
They competed in nine events, namely volleyball, seven-a-side soccer, shot put, athletics, tug of war, squash, tennis, table tennis and badminton.
Yau Tsim District and KW Emergency Unit took out the awards for Overall Champion (Major Unit) and Overall Champion (Minor Unit) respectively.
KW Regional Commander M. Stradmoor and Deputy Regional Commander Chung Hiu-pang officiated at the presentation proceedings.
Meanwhile, New Territories South held its fifth Regional Sports Day on November 16, also at the PSRC.
More than 300 participants and over 200 spectators flocked to the carnival for battles in swimming, seven-a-side soccer, basketball, squash, lawn bowls, athletics, tennis, tug of war, bench press and power lifting.
An exhibition relay race was held both in the water and on the athletics track featuring officers of various ranks and provided some exciting action. The day saw NTS Region's biggest turn out for the carnival in years.
The overall Major Unit trophy went to Kwai Tsing District while the Minor Unit trophy was picked up by Airport District.
