Crime prevention driving on

Cyber chum: Robotcop befriends kids at Mong Kok KCR Station offering crime awareness tips

Officers from Eastern District distributed visitors' registers and posted notices to help managers of residential buildings boost security on December 3.

Building visitors were requested to sign the register upon request by management staff. The drive is aimed at enhancing the awareness of building staff on strangers and to deter bad elements.

Members of the Eastern District Board and Fight Crime Committee and others joined Eastern District Commander Paul Hung Hak-wai and his officers to distribute the registers and notices.

Meanwhile, Mong Kok District sent Robotcop to Mong Kok KCR Station on November 4 to urge commuters to beware of pickpockets, marking the techno-officer's first time to help tackle the crime.

Bike beat: Registering cycles on Cheung Chau

District and Crime Prevention Bureau officers were also at the scene to distribute publicity leaflets.

Meanwhile, Marine Port District launched a six-month Bicycle Security Pilot Scheme for Cheung Chau on December 4. Jointly held with the Islands District Fight Crime Committee to arouse residens' awareness of bicycle security, about 400 islanders registered their bicycles with Police.

Bike serial numbers and owner information were loaded on a database for future cross-checkings. The Pilot Scheme will be reviewed in six months with a view to promoting it around Islands District.
