Police Constable Chan Chung-chi recently saved a drowning man, barely a year after he was commended by the Director of Marine for another rescue. The North Point officer heard a scream for help while in the station's carpark on November 28.
"I saw a man struggling in the water and I jumped in, over the wire fence, to pull him to safety."
The man had fallen into the harbour while fishing on the promenade.
Eastern District Commander Paul Hung Hak-wai hailed PC Chan's bravery and vowed to nominate him for the Director of Marine's commendation again.
