About 1,300 students from 80 secondary schools put their knowledge on road safety to the test by participating in the first Territory-Wide Road Safety Quiz.

Organised by the Road Safety Unit of Traffic Branch Headquarters and Regional Road Safety Teams, five groups made it to the final at the Police Training School on January 9, hosted by television personalities and Road Safety Star for 2000 Wong Yat-shan.

The top three prizes went to the Jockey Club Government Secondary School in Kowloon Tong, the Church of Christ in China Chuen Yuen College in Kwai Chung and the STSA Tam Pak Yu College in Tuen Mun respectively, who received their awards from Chief Superintendent (Traffic) Ian Stenton. The event was recorded and broadcast by Cable TV on January 11.
