More than 130 runners took to the northern New Territories' trails on January 15 and 16 for the 23rd Police Mountain Marathon.

Organised by the Police Adventure Club, the event saw 66 teams of two, competing in mens' open, senior, ladies' exercise and invitation categories. The competitors, each carrying their own camping equipment and other gear for the two-day trek, set off from the Tai Mei Tuk Activities and Training Centre to finish the 50 kilometre route back at the starting point.

Winners of the five categories were Acting Sergeant Yim Kit-yiu and Police Constable Lee Chap-ping, Auxiliary PC Mok Kei-sun and Police Interpreter Ho Ping-cheung, Woman Senior Inspector Cheng Mei-lin and Atg SGT Cheung Ngar-see, PCs Tang Che-leung and Lam Sun-wai, as well as civilians Chan Ka-lup and Ng Ka-wai, respectively. They were presented trophies by Assistant Commissioner of Police (Personnel) Tang King-shing and Club Patron Chan Jee-yat.
