Police top Gov dash for cash

An Oxfam representative hands out the awards to Force Trailwakers

The Force showed its health and charity muscle by raising the biggest donation among the government departments participating in November's Trailwalker event.

Organisers Oxfam held a presentation ceremony on January 28, revealing the 22 Police teams who ran, or walked, raised a total of $339,873, all finishing the gruelling 100-kilometre trek from Sai Kung to Tuen Mun along the MacLehose Trail.

The Fat Cat B team from the Police Tactical Unit crossed the line in 17 hours, 2 minutes, the fastest civil service team to finish. Assistant Commissioner of Police (Personnel) Tang King-shing accompanied the Police teams at the ceremony.

More than 880 teams participated in the endurance walk.
