Blazing new youths
A group of problem Yuen Long youths took part in a one-day camp on January 30, titled the Blazing Sun Scheme.
The Polar Star Scheme together with Social Welfare Department and five voluntary organisations in Yuen Long, jointly ran the camp on January 30 at the Outdoor Adventure Training Centre in Tai Lam Chung.
The event helped the 31 youths, aged 12 to 16, put their lives into focus and promote their self-esteem and sense of responsibility while warning of the dangers, and the price, of crime.
They were shown the spirit of teamwork in several activities and received certificates at the end of the course. Prizes for top performers were also given.
