Seven police records were broken at the action-packed Force Millennium Swimming Gala on March 3.
More than 200 officers and their families competed in 24 events including eight relays, at Shing Mun Valley Swimming Complex in Tsuen Wan.
Records were made in the 100 and 200 metres breaststroke, 50 and 100 metres backstroke, men's 4 x 50 metres freestyle and breaststroke relays, as well as the 4 x 50 metre promotion relay.
Inspector Chan Sze-tat of Security Wing and Woman Inspector Choi Nga-wing of Wong Tai Sin District were the Victor and Victrix Ludorum while SW also won both the Formation Men's and Women's Championships.
Eastern District won the Best-supported Formation trophy thanks to the talents of their cheerleaders led by Training and Staff Relations Officer Maria Chu.
The top three prizes for the 4 x 50 metre Freestyle Inter-departmental Invitation Relay went to the Fire Services Department, the Hong Kong Life Saving Society and the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
The day's action was peppered with a number of off-beat highlights, such as a swimming extravaganza by officer's kids showing their water-borne skills in a number of styles.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Management) Tsang Yam-pui, Assistant Commissioner (SW) Yuen Ying-lam, Deputy Regional Commander Hong Kong Island Chung Hiu-pang, DRC NTN Charles Wong Doon-yee and other senior officers were on hand to present trophies.
