Police Constable Lam Chi-cheung outdid the biggest field ever in the New Territories South Regional Police Officers' Mess Fun Run last month. A record 36 officers ran the six-kilometre event on February 25, with PC Lam of NTS Transport Branch coming home first in 22 minutes, 48 seconds (22'48"). The run featured a new scenic route along Mui Tsz Lam Road in Ma On Shan.
Last year's champ Senior Inspector Steven Barker of NTS Traffic managed a plucky second at 24'10", suffering a twisted ankle. Third was fellow SIP Li Kai-ming, of NTS Emergency Unit, with a 25'16", A host of other prizes were also awarded: First senior officer home was RC NTS Keith Braithwaite, first UB officer was SGT Wong Kwok-hung, first lady was CA Irene Yip, and the most determined officer award went to Chief Inspector Ma Kai-keung, also of RCU NTS.
