Kids, get set for Easter at the Club!

There's plenty happening at the Police Officers' Club to keep members busy over the next few weeks.

Tickets are now on sale for the Club Children's Easter Party, which will be held on April 16, 2.30 - 5 pm. It's going to be wild and wacky fun with racing cars, a bouncy castle, magic show, face painting, games, the Big Bunny and Crazy Chicken, a tea party and lots of choccy eggs! So get your tickets now from Reception, just $80 each!

If you enjoy wine, you'll enjoy two great new courses we've arranged for you together with the Hong Kong Wine School. The first course takes place each Friday next month - 12, 19 and 26 - and June 2, from 7 to 9 pm. Entitled Understanding Wine - A Foundation Course in Wine Knowledge it will introduce you to the world of vino, explain how the great wines are made, look at the key wine-producing countries, at the art of the winemakers and their styles of wine. The course is offered at a special discount rate of $1,800, which includes expert tuition, handouts, and of course, wine. Space is limited so book before April 9 at Club Reception on 2591-1911.

We are also offering a special South American Special Wine Workshop in June on Fridays 9, 16 and 23 from 7 to 9 pm. This course will be an opportunity to experience and understand what it is that makes South America such an exciting wine continent. Taste the wines at all levels of development, style, status and quality, receive at first hand new and up to date information on the developing technology in the vineyards, the wineries and the wines. This course is offered at the special discount rate of $1,400 which includes expert tuition, handouts and wine. Call Club Reception on 2591-1911 . Starting April 6 there'll be a tai chi course twice a week conducted by Lau Pak-ming, Thursdays 6.15 to 7.45 pm and Saturdays 2.30 to 4 pm in the Gallery. Cost is $500 per month for eight lessons - book now at Reception. Also, come and join us every Tuesday from 5.45 to 6.45 pm for stress-relieving chi kung (harmonious breathing within your body) - get the details from Reception.

April 14, 7 to 9 pm, there'll be a special Dog Care Seminar in conjunction with the SPCA in the Gallery. Topics include grooming, feeding, health care, vaccinations and first aid. The seminar is in English and Cantonese, includes drinks and snacks, and is FREE of charge. Book now at Reception.

Feeling tired and stressed? Well next time you're at the Club, try the new Little Relaxation Room opposite the Sports Shop. There's a massage chair, TV, sofas, games and books. Aaaahhh.

  • On April 22 and 23 there'll be a Happy Easter Buffet Luncheon in the Grill Room from midday to 3 pm. Adults $88 (4 bookings, 1 comes free), and children aged 4-12 just $48. On the 22nd there will also be table magic fun, and on 23rd a balloon-twisting clown!
