Airport District's Lau Kit-hong won the Seventh New Territories South Shing Mun Run on March 31, literally flying around the reservoir to set a new record.
The speedy Police Constable zipped around the course in 34 minutes, eight seconds, taking both the race and the category for Airport Security Unit officers.
Some 78 participants competed in the excellent running conditions, the last of which taking just over an hour to complete the course.
PC Ng Cheuk-yin of the Police Tactical Unit's Foxtrot Company won the Men's Open, just 41 seconds behind the new record time, while NTS Emergency Unit Sergeant Law Ping-tong retained the Senior Category championship.
However, a big upset came when Kwai Tsing District, winners of the last six Team Trophy titles, lost out to PTU's Foxtrot Company.
Sticking to true Healthy Lifestyle form, the race also saw a top turnout of senior officers including Regional Commander Keith Braithwaite, Deputy RC Mak Man-poon, Chief Superintendent (Administration) Kerry Pearce and Senior Superintendent (Adm) Ku Kin-wa setting a good example in the Senior Category. They also presented the prizes afterwards.
