The Force held its first bilateral meeting with the Macau Judicial Police (MJP) on March 24, since the former Portuguese enclave's return to Mainland sovereignty.

A seven-member Force delegation headed by Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Yam Tat-wing attended the meeting, the ninth since its inception in 1996.

The delegation included Organised Crime and Triad Bureau Chief Superintendent Tsang Wai-hung, Narcotics Bureau CSP Henrique Koo Sii-hong, Commercial Crime Bureau Senior Superintendent Peter Else and Criminal Intelligence Bureau SSP Lau Chi-keung. MJP Acting Director Dr Wong Sio-chak headed the Macau delegation.

Officers exchanged information on the general crime situation, triads, gambling, bookmaking, debt collection and loansharking, organised and serious crime, narcotics, fraud, counterfeiting and crime support services.

The meeting continued the Force's excellent working relationship with Macau authorities, the pairing working closely to combat cross-border crime. The next bilateral meeting is scheduled for September.
