Time to sign up for this year's Friends of Hope Education Fund long distance charity walk slated for scenic Inner Mongolia and the Yellow River, September 9 to 22.

The walk starts in the heart of the province and heads southward towards Xian with nights spent camping out, sleeping in schools or guest houses, and sampling the healthy and wholesome local fare.

The picturesque route passes some of the older sections of the Great Wall, and other popular and lesser-known tourist spots. About 30 to 35 kilometres will be covered daily on foot and the weather is expected to be fine and warm.

Total cost per participant is $6,000, including travel and other arrangements, and each person must raise at least $20,000 for the Fund.
