More upgrades for PPRB's webpage

DC Eastern Paul Hung and DDC E Stuart McDouall with Shau Kei Wan DVC Elaine Tsui and her quality team

The Police Public Relations Branch homepage is getting bigger and more informative with a new extension coming online soon.

Lines-to-take on various Police issues will be posted in a dedicated section on the webpage, allowing easy access for all relevant staff. The section is now being finalised and is expected to go online in the coming weeks.

The section further boosts PPRB's webpage, found under the Support Wing section, which already features a wealth of information on Force publicity matters.

They include daily media summaries of all the Force news featured in the printed and electronic media, Force press releases, forthcoming PR events, links to OffBeat and Force TV programmes Police Report and Police Magazine, along with a section outlining the Force Public Relations Strategy.

The PPRB pages also archive letters issued to both the Chinese and English media along with rebuttals to negative stories and other responses to sensitive pieces.

Chief Superintendent PR Stephen Fung Kin-man said: "We take a serious view to negative comments and inaccurate reports made in the media and take action accordingly to reply and set the record straight.

"Our webpage features a section dedicated to showing the letters of rebuttal and the replies the Force sends to concerned media organisations, and we encourage these letters to be posted on formation notice boards.

"The page also shows the press releases we issue to clarify information."

Mr Fung added: "We hope staff find these features useful in keeping informed on Force issues and encourage officers to browse our pages regularly for the latest Police information, especially as more and more features come online in the near future."
