Some 9,400 obscene VCDs worth about $300,000 were destroyed at Ho Man Tin Police Station September 20.
District Operations Officer Chau Sin-ping said the discs were part of almost 13,000 seized in operations this year.
She said although the problem was not too serious in Kowloon City, the District's Special Duty Squad had been conducting undercover operations at various outlets.
Thirty people have been arrested in these operations so far this year, and the number of shops selling the illegal discs has significantly dropped from 13 to just two.
Meanwhile, also on September 20, KC District Special Duty Squad raided three shops in Hung Hom Commercial Centre and seized 2,500 obscene discs worth about $50,000.
