Two forms of street safety for Kowloon City and Western
Kowloon City District and its Road Safety Campaign Committee launched their 2000/2001 road safety campaign September 30.
KC District Commander Peter Burbidge-King, Traffic Kowloon West Headquarters Superintendent Yeung On-leung and Committee Chairman Luk Wai-kong officiated at the opening ceremony in Ho Man Tin's Oi Man Estate. It was followed by a double-decker bus tour of local traffic blackspots including To Kwa Wan Road near Lok Shan Road, and the junction of Carpenter and Lion Rock Roads, to distribute safety souvenirs.
On the same day, Western District held a drive reminding the public to beware of street deception. Western Divisional Commander Ho Wai-ming, and Central and Western District Fight Crime Committee Chairman Chan Hay helped distribute souvenirs and leaflets outside Shek Tong Tsui Market, Queen's Road West.
