Historic meeting with Vietnamese police

Director of Crime and Security Louis Lau Chun-sing received Police General Do Hung, Deputy Director General of the Vietnam Police on October 16, in a historic meeting of the two Forces.
The General headed a six-member delegation from the United Nations International Drug Control Programme (UNDCP) Vietnam. Other members of the delegation included high-ranking officials from the Counter Narcotics Department of the Vietnam Police, Interpol, Customs, Border Army and the UNDCP Vietnam Country office.
The tour was part of two UNDCP projects on 'Interdiction and Seizure Capacity Building in Vietnam' and 'Intelligence Gathering and Sharing'. Views and policy on the fight against narcotics were discussed among the delegation and Narcotics Bureau officers, as well as representatives from Security Bureau's Narcotics Division, the Department of Justice, the Customs and Excise Department and the Government Laboratory during the NB-organised visits.
The delegation departed October 23, with the establishment of closer ties and a mutual working relationship between the two law enforcement agencies.
