Family fun atop The Peak

Force staff and their families are invited to take part in a top day of fun to raise money for Operation Santa Claus up on The Peak, December 17.

The Peak Day will include a walkathon from the Hong Kong Cricket Club up Barker Road to The Peak, games, stalls, face painting, live music and other activities.

New Police Sports Council Chairman, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Service Quality) Harry Blud, will officiate at the start of the walk at about 10 am.

Organisers expect about 2,500 people to take part in the event, which will raise money for the Operation's four beneficiaries this year, the Matilda Child Development Centre, Hong Kong Vocational Centre, Watchdog and Springboard.

Planning and Development Chief Inspector Paul Keylock, Watchdog's fund raising sub-committee chairman, said the tentative entry fee for the walk was $100 and would include a t-shirt.

"We really hope officers and their families will take part in this great day which will not only be fun, but also see funds generated for these very needy and important charities," he said.

Anyone seeking more information can contact Paul on 2528-1499.
