Salaries Tax Deduction for Uniform and Equipment Maintenance 2000/01
The Commissioner of Inland Revenue has agreed the tax deduction rate for uniform maintenance to all uniformed police officers will be set at $2,750. Officers should note that this is not automatically given and they must make a personal claim when completing their annual salary return. Officers who have been issued with uniforms but are not required to wear them while on daily duty (by virtue of FPM 15-03 Pars 3 and 4) are ineligible to claim this allowance.
