Fitness fan: SP Eric Lee at the Corporate Games

Ten lucky fitness fans have won top prizes in the lucky draw for participants of the Keep Fit for Tomorrow exercise promotion.

They were among more than 400 staff participating in Phase One of the Police Healthy Lifestyle Working Group campaign which launched November 1, encouraging at least 30 minutes of exercise, two days per week (see the list of winners, below). They each won a night's accommodation in Harbour Plaza Resort City in Tin Shui Wai, plus two nights at Tso Wo Hang Recreation Centre. The 10 entries were plucked from the lucky draw by Chief Superintendent Personnel Services Jawaid Khan.

With participants' bodies adjusting to their regimen, Phase Two was launched January 1 upping the ante to three days per week.

Sports and Recreation Division Superintendent Eric Lee Ying-min said although the response to Phase One was good, there was no limit on participant numbers.

"Phase Two is very similar to the first, only more intensive. We hope officers will continue submitting their forms, completing the required exercise and we would like to encourage more officers to sign up for the programme, it is not too late. You are all welcome to take part and earn a share of these great prizes while at the same time boosting your health," he said, adding that another lucky draw would be held at the end of Phase Two. "Response to Phase One was good but only about 400 forms were returned, with many other officers taking part but not completing the forms. We will also accept photocopied forms should somebody lose the original."

The type of exercise was up to the participant - any sport or activity ranging from soccer to tai chi, or jogging to a walk in the park. Participants would receive souvenir sports water bottles during Phase Two, to add to their sporty warrant card holders received in the first phase.
