Realising service quality went beyond crime detection and prevention, 40 trainees from the Detective Training School volunteered to do cleaning chores for the elderly living alone in Wan Chai on January 20, just before the Lunar New Year.
The community service project, organised jointly with the Wan Chai Methodist Centre for Seniors, provided an excellent opportunity for the officers to show their care and concern for the elderly, and in turn, earned their admiration and respect.
The officers hoped that through such community service events, they could help the Force foster a service culture among crime officers, in line with Force values, and to further boost its image.
