Charity concert countdown

The Force is doing well in the race to raise the most cash for the Community Chest as part of the Civil Service Charity Concert festivities. As of May 15, Police had raised $73,315 and clocked the highest participation in swimming and singing, and second highest in table tennis and dancing.

The table tennis competition on May 6, saw excellent results with four wins and four second places in seven events. Director of Operations Ng Wai-kit congratulated the winners and presented prizes to Woman Police Constables Chan Wai-chong and Tai Hoi-tik, Sergeant Lau Chun-fung, Chief Inspector Ma Lung-sang, PC Chan Chun-fai, Inspector Wong Wan-chi and PC Ko Wing-cheung, at the Squash and Table Tennis Centre in Kowloon Tong. Marine Region cook Law Kit-chuen and his partner won three out of eight events in the dance competition.

The Swimming Gala is the final competition set for May 27 at 9 am, at Shing Mun Valley Swimming Complex, Tsuen Wan. The Force has 18 officers competing, so please come along scream your support for them! Director of Personnel and Training Robin Leung Fung-shun will present prizes.

And don't forget the Civil Service Charity Concert at the Coliseum on June 10, 2.45 pm. Ticketing deadline has been extended to May 25. Tickets are $100 and $200. Complimentary tickets to join the reception and for VIP seats are also available for a donation of $2,000 (tax deductible).

Produced by TVB, entertainers Do Do Cheng and Nat Chan Bak-cheung will compere the event, with appearances from top pop stars such as Leon Lai, Ekin Cheng, Edison Chan, Sammi Cheng, Joey Yung, George Lam, Sally Yeh, Koi Ming-fai and many others. Guests will include senior officials such as Chief Secretary for Administration Donald Tsang and Financial Secretary Antony Leung.

Raffle tickets at $20 each will be drawn on June 21, with over $250,000 in prizes available.
