NTS school safety sports day
Some 500 students from 15 schools participated in a sports carnival organised by the New Territories South Road Safety Unit and Road Safety Patrol at Tsing Yi Sports Ground, May 26.
The event was to promote this year's road safety campaign theme of 'Smart Drivers and Pedestrians'. Participants gained road safety knowledge through six events including relays and long jump.
After some intense competition, the day's champion was S.C. Gaw Memorial College while first runner-up was CCC Chuen Yuen College. SKH Lam Woo Memorial Secondary School came third.
Acting NTS Deputy Regional Commander Bill Fenton, Senior Superintendent NTS Traffic Peter Bacon, Kwai Tsing District Officer Allan Chow, the Patrol's NTS RC Simon Luk and Kwai Tsing District Council Chairman Chow Yick-hay attended to cheer on the competitors.
